As the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series gets closer and closer, more details about the series of phones are breaking. According to a tweet from Ice Universe, stills taken with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in night mode will look very bright, as if the phone had “night vision”.
The low-light performance of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra camera is already good. However, recently launched devices such as the Vivo X90 Pro+ have put Samsung under competitive pressure in low-light shooting situations, thanks to newer phones featuring larger (1-inch) camera sensors. In fact, many reviews say that the Vivo X90 Pro+ takes significantly better low-light photos than Samsung’s current flagship phones. This is a big blow to Samsung.
So Samsung needs to equip the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a camera system that can beat flagship phones like the Vivo X90 Pro +. If the revelations are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone could at least be on par with Vivo’s flagship phones when it comes to dark light photography: “a brightness performance that doesn’t lose to Vivo”.
According to the leaked information, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 200MP primary camera on the rear and the 200MP sensor will be an upgraded version of the ISOCELL HP1. In addition to that, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will also feature a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom for portraits, and a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera. The phone can also shoot video at up to 8K 30fps.
