Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra ranked 10th in DxOMark camera ratings

Today, the Galaxy S23 family started selling worldwide. As expected, the Galaxy S23 Ultra became a fan favorite thanks to its new 200-megapixel camera that takes better pictures compared to other members of the same family. Samsung has always been great when it comes to camera experience and has been since the days of the S7 Edge, however, DxOMark thinks otherwise.

DxOMark, an independent testing organization known for testing many devices but controversial for stirring up many heated discussions on various forums about their smartphone camera scores, has now tested the Galaxy S23 Ultra, and some users may not agree with the results.

The good thing is that DxOMark still appreciates the new Galaxy S23 Ultra’s camera, highlighting how the device offers consistent camera performance across all features, excellent photo rendering with high detail levels, excellent autofocus for video and audio, and zoom performance at longer distances.

However, DxOMark also talks about the loss of image detail in the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s camera when shooting in low light, as well as shutter lag and erratic exposure and focus when the scene is backlit.

The summary of the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera has more pros than cons. However, the camera scores 140/149 overall, which does sound good, but it comes in at 10th in the global rankings and ultra-high-end rankings.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is tied for 10th place with the Google Pixel 7 and the Vivo X90 Pro+. And the number one spot goes to the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, followed by the Google Pixel 7 Pro.
