Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to exceed 2200nits peak brightness

Citing foreign technology media SamMobile reported that the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s peak brightness is expected to reach 2200 nits, again breaking the current record of 2000nits set by the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra may feature an E6 material Super AMOLED LTPO 3.0 display with a peak brightness of about 2200 nits, which is about 200 nits brighter than the current record holder, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The news also said that Samsung also improved the PWM dimming to close to 2000Hz, although slightly less than the BOE Q9 screen’s 2160Hz PWM dimming, but can reduce eye fatigue to a certain extent.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra will still feature a 120Hz refresh rate, but Samsung may bring tougher screen protection, possibly with a new version of Corning’s Gorilla Glass, with protection closer to Apple’s Sapphire Glass. the Galaxy S23 series may also feature a new glass cover for the rear camera, which could significantly improve image quality in low-light conditions.
