Samsung has officially announced its all-new Android 13-based OneUI 5.0 skin. The newly announced skin has many upgraded features such as improved privacy, lock screen customization support and more live widgets added. Soon after the release, the users were highly excited to test the software and the S22 lineup will be the first among any Samsung devices to grab the update. Now, the updated timeline for the S22 lineup has been officially released.

The firmware comes with Android 13 and a slew of features, including deeper Material You integration, improved Dynamic theming and a new Dynamic lock screen, improved widget stacking, multi-user support for the first time on Samsung, and new clever multitasking gestures like double-swiping from the bottom for quick split-screen and swipe from the top right corner for pop-up view.
If Android 13 were to be released in October, it would be available one month sooner than the Galaxy S21 series’ OneUI 4 update from last year, which itself arrived over a month earlier than OneUI 3.0 did on the Galaxy S20 series in December of 2020. Samsung has sent the OneUI 5 Beta 4 to the Galaxy S22 series, although it’s not obvious if this is the final version until the final firmware is released. By the end of October, OneUI 5 will be available for the Galaxy S22 series, but there will undoubtedly be some market-specific differences.
The One UI 5.0 upgrade for the Galaxy S22 is anticipated to exit the beta stage and go live later this month, Samsung said at SDC. Since October is almost halfway over, it won’t be long until everyone can take advantage of this new upgrade.
