After launching the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 laptop with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chip, Samsung launched the Galaxy Book 2 Go with an updated chipset, Windows 11 and Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 chip.
Samsung touts the Galaxy Book 2 Go as a compact yet powerful laptop. Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 chip, compared to the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 used in the Galaxy Book Go, the CPU performance is increased by 40% and the GPU performance is increased by 35%. The new chipset also brings faster wireless connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. There is also support for faster LPDDR4X memory (3200MHz) and storage (NVMe SSD). Qualcomm claims it offers improved AI processing.
The Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 chip is built with TSMC’s 6nm process, which can help laptops last longer after a single charge. Samsung claims that the Galaxy Book 2 Go can last a full day or up to 21 hours. hours of video playback. While the chipset supports 5G capabilities, Samsung is now only launching a Wi-Fi-enabled Galaxy Book 2 Go model. Samsung may launch a 5G version of the Galaxy Book 2 Go sometime this year. The laptop runs Windows 11 pre-installed and comes with Galaxy ecosystem features like Galaxy Buds auto-switching, Link to Windows, Multi-Control (Galaxy tablet), Quick Share, Samsung Notes, and Second Screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Go features a 14-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution and a 180-degree hinge. A larger touchpad is used, as well as a webcam. Samsung has not revealed the memory, storage and battery capacity of its new laptops. The laptop supports the MIL-STD-810G specification, which means it is more resistant to drops, extreme temperatures, humidity, shocks, and vibrations. The laptop is 15.5mm thick and weighs 1.44 kg.
The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Go will be available exclusively in France on Samsung.com from January 20, 2023.
