According to Counterpoint Research’s phone model sales tracking service, Samsung has five spots on the top 10 5G Android smartphone list in February 2022. The brand’s Galaxy A52s 5G is the world’s best-selling 5G Android smartphone, followed by the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S21 FE 5G and Galaxy A32 5G. These, along with the tenth-ranked Galaxy A22 5G, contributed more than half of Samsung’s February 2022 5G phone sales. Driven by these models, Samsung led the market with nearly 24% of 5G Android smartphone sales in February 2022.
The top ten best-selling 5G Android smartphone models in the world are Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Samsung Galaxy A32 5G, OPPO Reno 7 5G China version, Honor 60, vivo S12, Xiaomi Redmi K40 , Honor X30, Samsung Galaxy A22 5G.
In addition to Samsung, Honor’s two mobile phones are in the top ten, while vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi each have one model in the top. Sales of 5G smartphones are largely driven by the Chinese market, where 5G is now “standard”, with a 5G penetration rate of 83% as of February 2022. vivo, OPPO, Xiaomi and Honor are the top 5G Android vendors in the Chinese market. These brands are further expanding their 5G portfolios in emerging markets such as Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. Since its independence from Huawei, Honor has been working to strengthen its presence in the segment and focus on the premium segment, while planning expansion in Europe and Asia.
Overall, Android models accounted for 67% of global 5G smartphone sales in February 2022, with the top 10 best-selling 5G Android smartphones accounting for 20% of 5G Android smartphone sales that month.
