In less than two years, Samsung has announced that its SmartThings Find network has amassed more than 200 million nodes that help users find lost Galaxy phones, headphones, Galaxy SmartTags and more.
Samsung announced that the SmartThings Find network has doubled in size in the last year and is available for Samsung’s smartphones, headphones and other devices, but primarily for Galaxy SmartTags — a finder similar to Apple’s AirTag.
Apple said in 2021 that its “Find My” finder network consisted of “hundreds of millions of Apple devices,” but the company has never released specific numbers, so it’s unclear who’s bigger, Apple or Samsung.
The SmartThings Find network uses low-power Bluetooth (BLE) and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to find devices, a key advantage of which is that devices can be located even when they are offline.
