Samsung Electronics has now taken the front seat in introducing a new generation of graphics card GPUs. The 24Gbps GDDR6 DRAM is the first of its kind in the industry. It uses Samsung’s third-generation 10nm fabrication process. Combining this with extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology to improve next-generation graphics performance.
The adoption rate of this new technology promises to be far spanning. Not only will this graphics card work with various GPUs, but it’d also be in use across a wide range of appliances. From laptops to PCs, gaming consoles, and even electric vehicles, the 24Gbps GDDR6 DRAM will be in use.
This innovation will handle high, demanding AI workloads and play 4K and 8K videos seamlessly.
Samsung promises that the power efficiency of this DRAM will go up 20%. Speed is to improve by 30% in comparison with the 18Gbps the industry currently provides.
Samsung leaves a lot to be expected from this announcement. Mass production of the company’s new DRAM will soon kick off. According to the Korean tech giant, “high-performance graphics portions will see a double growth annually” in the coming years. The company expresses its resolution to lead the industry in achieving such growth.
