Samsung Display: 13.4-inch Circular Display will debut at Gamescom Cologne 2022

Samsung Display will participate for the first time in Gamescom 2022 (Cologne International Gamescom 2022), one of the world’s top three game shows hosted by BIU. The show will be held in Cologne, Germany, from August 24 to 28 local time.

Gamescom 2022 is being held offline for the first time in nearly two years. At the show, Samsung Display will showcase 240Hz OLEDs for laptops and “Flex Gaming” devices for future gaming solutions, as well as QD-OLEDs for great gaming quality TVs and monitors.

Samsung Display said it will provide visitors with an opportunity to play games directly to compare and experience the gaming performance of other Samsung displays with OLED and QD-OLED. In the Future Technology Zone, Samsung Display will showcase the Flex Gaming device, which will be introduced for the first time at SID 2022 (International Society for Information Display 2022).

The Flex Gaming device is a concept product, a 7.2-inch display that can be used as a smartphone when folded in half. Unfold it while playing games and it can be used as a large screen. The feature is that when the device is used vertically, the top half of the screen displays the game screen, while the bottom half acts as a controller, allowing for a variety of gaming environments.

In addition, the Samsung 13.4-inch circular display debuted at the show can be applied to in-car display.

Samsung’s self-emitting displays such as OLED and QD-OLED are becoming a new trend in the rapidly changing gaming display market, said the person in charge of Samsung Display.
