Samsung Announces PRO Ultimate Series of SD / MicroSD Memory Cards: 200MB/s Read Speed

Samsung Electronics announced today the launch of the PRO Ultimate series of memory cards, including MicroSD memory cards and SD memory cards, all using the UHS-I interface.

According to reports, the new PRO Ultimate series memory card has a capacity of up to 512GB, a continuous reading speed of 200MB/s, and a writing speed of 130MB/s, which can continuously transfer large-capacity files, such as 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) and Full HD ( FHD) video, supports video speed class V30.

Additionally, in response to consumer demands for the ability to manage large amounts of content and quickly transfer to other devices, PRO Ultimate MicroSD memory cards achieve Application Performance Class 2 (A2).

In terms of stability, the PRO Ultimate series memory card upgrades the ECC low-density parity check (LDPC) code from 1KB to 2KB engine, provides a higher write and erase cycle, and supports up to 72 hours of water resistance in two meters deep water, 5-meter drop resistance, 10,000 times of abrasion resistance, as well as X-ray and magnetic resistance. It can also operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -25°C to 85°C (-13°F to 185°F). Additionally, PRO Ultimate SD memory cards are shock-resistant up to 1500g.

In terms of controllers, the new 28nm controllers are 37% more power efficient than Samsung’s previous family of 55nm controllers, allowing consumers to use their devices for longer without frequent recharging.

According to Samsung, PRO Ultimate SD memory cards are compatible with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, camcorders, desktop computers and laptops; PRO Ultimate MicroSD memory cards are compatible with Android-based smartphones, tablets, handheld game consoles, action cameras, drones , PC and other devices are widely compatible.

PRO Ultimate MicroSD memory cards are available in three storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, and PRO Ultimate SD memory cards are available in four storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.

PRO Ultimate MicroSD memory cards will be available worldwide soon, while PRO Ultimate SD memory cards will be available worldwide in October 2023. All capacities of the two models are available in the adapter version and provide a ten-year limited warranty. A complete specification sheet is attached:
