RIA Novosti and The Wall Street Journal quoted sources familiar with the situation as saying that some Chinese companies are suspending supplies to Russia due to sanctions and pressure from U.S. suppliers.

“Some big companies are scaling back shipments to Russia, where Chinese tech companies are leading the market for many items, but have not officially announced it.”

Several major companies, including PC giant Lenovo Group and smartphone maker Xiaomi Group, are reducing shipments in Russia, people familiar with the matter said, without making any public statements.

In addition to this, drone giant DJI has publicly announced that it is suspending operations in Russia and Ukraine for compliance reviews. There is also news that Huawei and others have also suspended their business in Russia, including suspending new orders in Russia and furloughing employees for at least a month, because of possible secondary sanctions.

Lenovo stopped shipments shortly after the Russian-Ukrainian conflict broke out and foreign sanctions came into effect, though some existing inventory is still being sold in Russia. Xiaomi also cut shipments to Russia. A distributor operating in Russia said Xiaomi had not made deliveries to Russia in recent weeks.
