NVIDIA’s next-generation graphics card, codenamed RTX 40 series or Ada Lovelace, is expected to arrive sometime in October. However, the latest information from the YouTube channel “Moore’s Law Is Dead” suggests that NVIDIA may have delayed the arrival of the next generation of GPUs until December.
You may be wondering why this is? The report says the current GPU market is flooded with used GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs. as a result, Nvidia may be delaying the availability of its latest GPUs to ensure that it digests market inventory to keep the new generation attractive.
Demand in the retail market is actually smaller due to the fact that the used GPU market is filled with devices previously used for cryptocurrency mining (slag), which has been fueled by the recent cryptocurrency crash.
NVIDIA’s next latest timeline will likely be to announce the Ada Lovelace GPU in October and then wait until later in December for availability. Of course, these are just industry rumors at this point, and we have yet to see how the market and NVIDIA will respond.
