According to the latest news shared by screen analyst Ross Young, Apple is expected to launch an 11/12.9-inch iPad Pro model equipped with an OLED panel in 2024. In a tweet, Young said that the iPad Pro with OLED panels will be available in the first half of 2024.
The new iPad Pro with the M2 chip was launched yesterday, but the screen material remains unchanged, with the 11-inch model still not following through with mini-LED material. Apple first equipped the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display in April 2021, and despite rumors that the 11-inch model would follow suit, that didn’t happen.
In contrast to mini-LED technology, Apple’s planned OLED display will reportedly include a two-layer tandem structure with two red, green and blue emitting layers for increased brightness. OLED displays are also more power efficient, which helps extend battery life.
