Rolls-Royce’s first pure electric car Spectre was officially launched yesterday. Delivery begins at the end of the quarter. Spectre is positioned as a two-door four-seater pure electric coupe, built on the basis of an all-aluminum “luxury architecture”, with a cruising range of 585 kilometers under CLTC conditions and an acceleration of 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Rolls-Royce Spectre is positioned as an “ultra-luxury electric super coupe”. It adopts a two-door 4-seater GT shape design, and its appearance follows the family design language of the fuel version. The front face is composed of the iconic Parthenon grille + It consists of split headlights on both sides, and the body structure of the coupe also looks very sporty. The Parthenon grille, in polished stainless steel, is the widest front grille in the history of a Rolls-Royce.
Spectre and Phantom adopt the same double-door layout and fastback body. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5453/2080/1559mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3210mm. Rolls-Royce Spectre weighs 2975kg and uses very large 23-inch wheels.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre will have a comfortable and highly optimized driving experience, equipped with a series of features that Rolls-Royce calls Planar Suspension, which the company calls a “magic carpet ride” that uses the mass of the vehicle to restrain Small, high-frequency vibrations on the road. The vehicle will monitor 18 sensors when cornering, and the four tires can operate independently to prevent bumps.
In the car, Rolls-Royce Spectre will be equipped with the Spirit infotainment system cockpit developed based on BMW’s 8th generation iDrive platform. It is said that engineers have tested Rolls-Royce Spectre on 25,000 kilometers of roads to ensure that the vehicle can respond to data related to “climate, ground speed, road type, vehicle status and driving style.”
In terms of power, Spectre is still continuously optimizing, and the final power, acceleration performance and mileage data are still being improved. According to preliminary data, the new car CLTC has a cruising range of 585 kilometers under comprehensive working conditions, a maximum power of 430kW, a torque of 900N m, and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h of 4.5 seconds.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre marks the brand’s first step toward full electrification, which the company says will be achieved by 2030. That’s in stark contrast to Rolls-Royce’s parent company BMW, which has yet to announce when it will transition to 100% electric vehicles.
