Early in the year, news that Rolls-Royce will launch a pure electric sports car Spectre EV, now some foreign media have taken spy photos of the car testing at the Nürburgring, the appearance is very luxurious, and the interior has some similarities with the Cullinan.
Similar to the previously revealed prototype, the exterior of the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV follows the family design language of the fuel-fired model, with a front end consisting of the iconic Parthenon grille + split headlights on both sides, and a sporty two-door coupé body structure.
For now, Rolls-Royce remains tight-lipped about the performance aspects of the new car, but there are now revelations confirming that the company shares a luxury all-electric platform with the Cullinan and Phantom, and a new architecture that has been modified for added strength, with the press expecting to offer a 600 hp (447 kW) twin-motor arrangement.
The full specs will be released later in 2023, so we may see more spy shots and teasers before then.
The Ghost and Phantom’s luxury architecture platform is also the powertrain of the BMW iX M60, which has two electric motors that can reach an explosive 610 hp (449 kW) and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Newton-meters) in Sport mode.
During normal driving, the system produces 532 hp (391 kW) and 749 lb-ft (1015 Nm).
the iX M60 uses a 111.5 kWh battery pack and has a predicted range of 280 miles (450 km). The unveiling of the electric Rolls-Royce coupe is currently unspecified, but deliveries of the new car are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
