According to the official website of League of Legends, on November 9, Riot Games announced that it will take over the distribution business of “League of Legends” and “League of War Chess” in Southeast Asia from January 2023. After that, Riot’s direct-operated games in the region will increase to five, and the other three are “Special Warfare Heroes”, “League of Legends: Fighting Canyon” and “Legend of Runeterra”.

Players playing League of Legends with a Garena account will be able to start transferring their account data to Riot servers starting November 18th

Players will still be able to play League of Legends through Garena until early January 2023 after completing account linking in November. At the same time, starting in January, Riot servers will be opened simultaneously, and players will be able to log in to League of Legends through Riot’s multi-game client.

From January 2023, Riot will officially take over the distribution business of League of Legends and League of Legends in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand).
