Reverse-compiled Home app shows traces of second-generation Nest Doorbell (wired)

A year ago, Google announced that the second generation of Nest Doorbell (wired) will be launched in 2022. Before the hardware launch on October 6, foreign technology media 9to5Google found traces of the wired version of the Nest Doorbell by reverse-compiling the Google Home application.

A reverse compilation of yesterday’s new Google Home 2.58 update on Google Play reveals that it includes several images of a new wired version of the Nest Doorbell, codenamed “venus”. (From the looks of it, it has the same pill-shaped design as the current Nest Doorbell (battery).

It is defined by two circles, the camera at the top, the button/bell at the bottom and the engraved “G” logo in the middle. In the Easter egg, you can again find the “Hello” in different languages on the side of the camera.

This new wired version is shorter than the battery model but thicker. Also, we can see images of the black base plate and wedge in case you need a different mounting angle. (The side view above is just the Nest Doorbell, while the side view below has the base plate attached.)
