Redmi K50 Ultra expected to launch with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1

The last rumor about Xiaomi’s Redmi K50 Ultra surfaced in February. And now, Digital Chat Station outlined new details on the upcoming smartphone. It was Xiaomiui who first announced the existence of the K50 Ultra as it was listed on the IMEI database with the number, 22071212AC. The listing also indicated that the device is intended for the Chinese market only. Xiaomiui also noticed another variant of the device, the Redmi K50S Ultra and it will have higher specs compared to the Redmi K50 Ultra. 

Earlier, Digital Chat Station reported that the Redmi K50 Ultra will be one of Xiaomi’s flagship devices, and the upcoming device will likely be launched with Qualcomm’s latest, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. This new chip was announced last month. And it is coming with a 10% faster CPU and GPU clock speed, compared to its previous generation. Qualcomm has also increased power efficiency by 30%.

Expected Redmi K50 Ultra Design

Lastly, the leak has also addressed the specs of the K50 Ultra. The device will likely feature a 4,800 mAh or 5,000 mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. The device will sport an OLED display with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Reportedly, the K50 Ultra will also offer DC dimming to reduce eye strain. The device will also have super-narrow bezels to provide a modern look. 

The Redmi K50 Ultra is also expected to feature a 50MP rear camera and a front-facing camera with a punch-hole design. It is expected to hit the market in the second half of 2022.
