Xiaomi has launched a bunch of new products at its launch event today. The next generation of Xiaomi Foldable, the Xiaomi MIX Fold2, along with Redmi K50 Ultra and other AloT products has been announced officially. The Redmi K50 Ultra has been launched as the top-of-the-line smartphone in Redmi’s K-lineup of smartphones.
Redmi K50 Ultra; specifications and features
Starting from the display, the Redmi K50 Ultra has an upgraded 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel supplied by China’s TCL CSOT and Tianma with a pixel resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, 120Hz high refresh rate, 1920Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Atmos support, 100 per cent DCI P3 colour gamut, and HDR10+ certification. The brand has further provided the support of Adaptive HDR and 12-bit colour depth. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.
As for the cameras, we have triple rear cameras on the back with 108-megapixels Samsung ISOCELL HM6 primary sensor with support for Optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixels secondary ultrawide lens, and 2-megapixels macro lens at last. On the front, we have a 20-megapixel front selfie snapper housed in centre aligned punch hole cutout. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast wired charging.
The device will boot up on MIUI 13 based on Android 12 right out of the box. Additional specifications include dual SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, dual-band GNSS, NFC, IP53 rating, Dolby Atmos-supported dual stereo speakers, an x-axis linear vibration motor, and an under-screen fingerprint sensor.
Redmi K50 Ultra; pricing and variants
The Redmi K50 Ultra comes in four different storage variants; 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. It is priced at CNY 2,999 ($445), CNY 3,299 ($490), CNY 3,599 ($534), and CNY 3,999 ($593). The device will be available in Blue, Black and Silver colour variants. It has also got a Champion Edition which is priced at ¥4,199 ($623) for 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. This variant is themed after Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team.
