Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched its budget-oriented Redmi A1 smartphone in the Indian market. Now, the brand has launched a slightly tweaked version of the same smartphone as Redmi A1+. The smartphone has got specifications like a 5000mAh battery, a rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner and much more to offer.
Redmi A1+; specifications and features
The Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ smartphones are nearly identical to one another. The device features a 6.52-inch display with a dewdrop notch and a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (HD+). The 20:9 panel supports a touch sampling rate of 120Hz, a maximum brightness of 400 nits, and 70% of the NTSC colour gamut. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset.
The smartphone comes paired with the LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 type onboard storage. It has got a dual rear camera setup with an 8-megapixels primary lens and a 0.3-megapixels secondary depth-sensing lens. We have a 5-megapixels front-facing selfie snapper housed in the waterdrop notch cutout. It draws power from a 5000mAh battery which supports 10W standard charging using the micro-USB port.

Additional features of the device include dual-SIM, 4G, single-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS, dedicated micro-SD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack support. The smartphone measures the dimension of 164.9 x 76.5 x 9.1mm and weighs around 192gms. It will boot up on Android 12 Go Edition with stock UI right out of the box.
Redmi A1+; pricing and variants
The Redmi A1 Plus costs KSh 10,345 ($85) in Kenya for a single configuration with 3GB and 32GB of memory. It is available for purchase on Jumia in the colours blue and black. However, a green colour variant is also offered.
