Redmi A1 has been hovering around the internet for the last few days. The device was previously spotted on some certification websites and soon after that, the Indian division of Xiaomi started teasing this upcoming device. Now, the launch date has been confirmed officially for the Indian market. The brand has also teased some of the key specifications of the device.

The brand is going to host a launch event in the country on September 6th, 2022 under their “Diwali with Mi” campaign. Xiaomi has confirmed that Redmi A1 will be launched at the same event. Anyway, the Redmi 11 Prime 5G is also going to land officially in the same event. The event will be live streamed across all the official social media handles of the brand starting 12’o clock in noon.
The launch poster also reveals the device’s design from front and back. As for the front, we have a classic waterdrop notch cutout and on the back, we have a new camera bump, which is similar to Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, and houses two camera lenses (maybe one is dummy) and an LED light inside it. The device can be seen in blue and green kind of colours and it comes with a special leather design on the rear panel.

The devices are expected to include a dual or single rear camera with an 8-megapixels AI primary lens. It is expected to feature a 6.52-inches HD+ IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch cutout and 1080*720 pixel resolution. MediaTek Helio A22 coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM will power up the device. It is anticipated that it will boot up on the latest Android 12-based MIUI right out of the box.
