Raspberry Pi released a new generation of camera module 3, based on the Sony IMX708 sensor development, starting at $25 (about 170 CNY).

Additionally, the new module has a sensor resolution of 11.9MP (compared to 8.1MP in the previous generation). HDR support means the Camera Module 3 can take multiple exposures of the same scene and combine them so that both darker and brighter parts of the image are properly exposed.

The Camera Module 3 with a standard field of view FOV starts at $25 (currently about 170 CNY), while the ultra-wide-angle version with a 102-degree field of view starts at $35 (currently about 237 CNY). Raspberry Pi also launched an infrared version designed for night photography.
