Qualcomm announces Snapdragon Summit 2023 October 24-26, expected to unveil Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip

Qualcomm has announced the 2023 Snapdragon Summit, which will take place from October 24-26 and is expected to unveil the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

Note: The summit to launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was held in Hawaii from November 15-17, 2022. This year, the location has not changed, but the date has changed and is earlier.

Weibo blogger @digitalgossipstation revealed that “the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip phones are still coming in November. The first models so far include Xiaomi 14 series, Vivo X100 series, iQOO 12 series, Redmi K70 series, One Plus 12, Realme GT5, etc.”

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip (SM8650) will introduce a “1+5+2” core configuration, unlike the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “1+2+2+3” setup, suggesting that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could bring more powerful performance cores and higher frequencies The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be powered by TSMC’s N4P process, with Cortex-X4 super cores, 5 A720 cores, 2 A520 cores and Adreno 750 GPU.

According to Ice Universe, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s Adreno 750 GPU will have “significantly higher” performance and will come with 10MB of Level 3 cache compared to its predecessor’s 8MB of Level 3 cache.
