QNAP has launched a new NAS product called TS-855X, but it seems that the launch date and pricing information have not yet been announced.
This NAS can provide six 3.5-inch HDDs and two 2.5-inch SSDs, equipped with an Intel Atom Atom C5125 processor (Note: 2.8GHz eight-core design), a 8GB DDR4 memory, and supports Intel QAT and SR -IOV technology to assist enterprises in deploying data storage and virtualization environments. It is reported that TS-855X has also passed the virtualization storage certification of VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
In addition, this product supports up to 128 GB DDR4 memory and provides dual M.2 PCIe NVMe slots, supports SSD cache, SSD storage pool or Qtier automatic tiered storage, and can also pass TL-R1620Sep-RP / TL-R1220Sep- RP JBOD expands up to 48 additional hard disks, and comes standard with QTS operating system, which can be switched to ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system as required.
It also features dual 2.5GbE and single 10GbE Ethernet ports, with the dual 2.5GbE ports also supporting SMB multi-channel technology up to 5 Gbps. It is worth mentioning that it also provides two PCIe Gen 3 slots, which can be expanded with 5/10/25GbE network cards, QM2 cards or fiber optic cards by installing compatible PCIe cards.
In other respects, this NAS also has 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) and 1 USB 2.0 interface.
