TrendForce released a report today that the revenue of the world’s top ten IC design manufacturers in the third quarter of 2022 will reach US$37.38 billion (approximately RMB 259.791 billion), a decrease of 5.3% from the previous quarter.
Qualcomm, Broadcom, NVIDIA, AMD, and MediaTek are among the top five global IC design manufacturers by revenue in the third quarter of 2022.
Qualcomm’s revenue in the third quarter reached US$9.9 billion (approximately RMB 68.805 billion), an increase of 5.6% from the previous quarter.
Broadcom’s revenue reached US$6.94 billion (approximately RMB 48.233 billion), an increase of 6.8% from the previous quarter.
Nvidia’s revenue this quarter was US$6.09 billion (approximately RMB 42.325 billion), a decrease of 14.0% from the previous quarter.
AMD’s revenue for the quarter was US$5.57 billion (approximately RMB 38.712 billion), a decrease of 15.0% from the previous quarter.
MediaTek’s revenue was US$4.68 billion (approximately RMB 32.526 billion), an 11.6% decrease from the previous quarter.

Looking forward to the fourth quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023, TrendForce said that in an environment of high inflation, the end-of-year shopping festival will have a limited rebound in consumption momentum brought by consumer electronics. Time is gone, so it will be a very challenging two quarters for IC design manufacturers, and the possibility of a quarter-on-quarter decrease in revenue is not low. However, when the industry was at a low point, all manufacturers continued to reduce their own inventories while increasing their cash levels, and expanded their products to data centers, automobiles and other fields, making preparations for the overall semiconductor industry to recover in the future.
