According to previous news, the first model is expected to be the Cupra Tavascan. The car may be equipped with dual motors to achieve four-wheel drive, and the WLTP cruising range can reach 450km.
It is reported that Volkswagen (Anhui) Parts Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. The company is the Volkswagen Group’s first wholly-owned battery pack production factory in China and is the core supplier of Volkswagen Anhui complete vehicles. The Volkswagen new energy vehicle battery pack project put into production this time is the core supporting project of Volkswagen Anhui and is the Volkswagen Group’s first wholly-owned battery pack production project in China. The total investment in the project is about 1.5 billion RMB, of which the fixed asset investment is about 1.3 billion RMB. The project is expected to achieve an annual output of 300,000 sets of battery packs for new energy vehicles after reaching production in 2028. It is expected to achieve cumulative sales revenue of about 129 billion RMB by 2032. . In the future, Volkswagen (Anhui) Parts Co., Ltd. will also be the first in the group to produce Cell-to-pack battery packs based on the standard cells developed in cooperation with Guoxuan Hi-Tech.
In December 2022, Volkswagen’s third MEB factory in China was built in Volkswagen Anhui. The first pre-production model successfully rolled off the production line and will be fully put into production before the end of this year. Up to now, Volkswagen has invested in Hefei and has successively invested in projects such as vehicle manufacturing base, supporting core parts, sales and digital service headquarters, software research and development branches, and smart logistics to build the Volkswagen Group’s new energy vehicle base in China. In the future, Hefei will also become Volkswagen’s new R&D and innovation center in China, focusing on the development of the latest generation of electric vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles.
