The CFexpress 4.0 specification was released at the end of August this year. Compared with the current specification, the new version doubles the theoretical transmission and the theoretical speed of CFE-B memory cards doubles to 4 GB/s. Today, manufacturer ProGrade launches the world’s first CFexpress 4.0 CFE-B card, with speeds up to 3400 MB/s and a 1300GB capacity priced at 18,999 CNY.

ProGrade’s new CFE-B cobalt card has a read speed of up to 3400 MB/s, a write speed of up to 3000 MB/s, and a sustained write speed of 2800 MB/s. It uses a PCIe 4.0*2 interface and a metal casing.
According to previous reports, the new CFexpress 4.0 specification retains the physical form factors of all previous CFexpress memory cards: Type A, Type B, and Type C. The new specification realizes the upgrade from PCIe 3.0 to PCIe 4.0. The transmission speed of CFE-A memory card using one PCIe 4.0 lane can reach 2GB/s, and the transmission speed of CFE-B memory card using two PCIe 4.0 lanes can reach 4GB/s.
