A new report by TheElec reveals that Samsung has reportedly started the production of its first 89-inch MicroLED TV. The LTPS TFT glass substrate, as opposed to a printed circuit board, is used for the first time in a Samsung MicroLED TV.
Samsung beings manufacturing LTPS TFT 89-inch TV
However, sources claimed that production of Samsung’s 101-inch and 114-inch LTPS TFT MicroLED TVs has not yet begun. The 89-inch and 101-inch models were initially supposed to go into production in May, according to Samsung. However, the production date was postponed as a result of supply chain problems and low yields. The 89-inch model has only recently begun to be produced.
Uncertainty surrounds the specific cause of the delay, and the 89-inch model’s final cost has not yet been disclosed. Prior to beginning production, Samsung, according to TheElec, will set the price at about $80,000.
