Porsche’s first charging lounge opens in Germany, equipped with fitness equipment

Porsche officially announced that the first “charging lounge” started operation on the outskirts of Bingen am Rhein, Germany, and will provide six 300 kW DC fast charging piles and four 22 kW AC charging stations. Thereafter, Porsche will build further Porsche charging lounges in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

According to reports, the Porsche “charging lounge” is open 24 hours a day and has the characteristics of “extremely high charging performance, comfortable environment and convenient centralized charging fee settlement”.

The fast-charging piles currently have a maximum power of 300kW, but have been upgraded to provide higher charging speeds, and the power of each charging pile will reach 400kW by early next year. Meanwhile, charging will be powered by “certified renewable energy.”

In addition, the charging lounge uses a heat pump air conditioner that does not require fossil fuels, and part of the electricity required is provided by a solar cell photovoltaic system on the roof. It is also equipped with a digital building management system. Dim lighting brightness.

In terms of service facilities, the charging lounge provides a variety of soft drinks and snacks, as well as analog and digital media, and high-performance WiFi networks. At the same time, fitness equipment and a large smart screen are also set up in the lounge, allowing users to choose interactive content independently.

It was previously quoted Reuters as reporting that Porsche is planning to gradually electrify its car lineup so that electric vehicles account for 80% of its sales by 2030, and plans to make its iconic 911 the only fuel-burning model.
