Apple released the Vision Pro mixed reality headset at WWDC 2023 in June, which can be used for a variety of scenarios, including productivity and entertainment, and of course, gaming. However, the Vision Pro won’t be available until 2024, and it’s unclear what applications it will support. However, game studio Resolution Games has announced plans to port the popular card game Demeo to Apple’s mixed reality headset.

Demeo is a cross-platform multiplayer team-based strategy adventure card game where players enter a monster-infested dark world and can choose from a variety of characters ranging from heavily armoured knights to archers and, of course, mages. Mimicking the classic board game experience, players can roll dice to achieve various attacks, defence bonuses or negative effects.
The most interesting part of the game is its combination of augmented reality and virtual reality, creating a unique gaming experience that makes players feel like they are part of the game.
Demeo was originally released on Oculus Quest in 2021 before being ported to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2 earlier this year. Next year, buyers of Apple’s Vision Pro may be able to enjoy the game on Apple’s new device. resolution Games has confirmed that they are working on a visionOS version of Demeo with support for “joystick-less gameplay”. resolution Games’ co-founder Paul Braun, who has been working on the game for the past few years, said that the game will be available on Apple’s Vision Pro. Paul Brady, co-founder and president of Resolution Games, emphasized the company’s desire to revolutionize the gaming industry with mixed reality technology, “What really makes MR magical is the interaction between the real and the virtual, and there’s nothing more interactive than the human hand.”
In addition to the Vision Pro version, Resolution Games also has plans to release a “flat” version of Demeo for the Mac in the future, but details are not yet known.
