Pope Francis praised generative artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT but warned to advance them ethically and responsibly at the annual Minerva Dialogues event.
Pope Francis addressed an audience of scientists, engineers, business leaders, lawyers and representatives of the Catholic Church (including court officials, theologians and ethicists)
"I believe that the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning will make a positive contribution to the future of humanity, so we cannot ignore it.
And to realize this future scenario, I believe that those who develop these technologies need to always keep ethics in mind and advance in a responsible manner.
