Prices for the PlayStation 5 both digital and disc editions are going up in most regions. The reason for this hike in the price is due to the harsh economic conditions. According to the company, deciding to raise the price of their latest gaming console wasn’t an easy one.
But for some reason, the hike in prices will not affect consoles sold in the US at this time. The hike will affect Canada, as well as countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Some regions will start to feel this price increment by September 15 while other regions will feel it sometime within the month.

According to someone on the inside, the price hike is necessary due to the “global economic environment.” But, the goal of the company concerning the PlayStation 5 remains to improve the console’s supply. Earlier this year, Sony said it will ramp up the production of the PlayStation 5 to satisfy the demand.
The new pricing of the PlayStation 5 will affect both versions of the gaming console. For the US pricing, it will remain unchanged, unlike other regions that will see up to a 20% price increase.
