The big smartphone market performed disastrously in the first half of the year, with several headline brands experiencing declining sales. Apple, however, was more fortunate and still maintained growth. Just from the last quarterly earnings report, iPhone revenue only improved by 3% year-on-year. So the next new iPhone 14, more can not afford to lose, all kinds of decisions have to be prudent. Mark Gurman has learned that Apple intends to call off its original plan to raise the price of the iPhone 14 by $100, probably to ensure that the sales aspect is foolproof.

Of course, because the mini model was cut, the average selling price of the iPhone 14 series will still increase overall, and as normally expected, the book revenue numbers will never look bad.

Currently, the full iPhone 13 lineup starts at $5,199 ($699 in North America), but that’s for the mini model, and the 6.1-inch 13 is priced at $5,999 ($799). That said, the entry-level 6.1-inch model of the iPhone 14 will also start at $5,999 and offer 128GB capacity.

For consumers on a budget, Apple actually offers the iPhone SE 3, official flip and other options. In addition, as is customary, after the iPhone 14 series goes on sale, the iPhone 13 will also be reduced in price by about $100 to continue clearing inventory and sell for at least a year.
