In just a few hours, the Pixel Watch will be officially announced, and thanks to revelations and leaks, we know almost everything about the upcoming smartwatch. One thing that’s been a big concern is the display. It looks good, but just like curved displays, domed glass doesn’t always really work because the fragility factor is always there and needs to be avoided.
Now, renowned accessory manufacturer Ringke has released an accessory for the Pixel Watch called the “Bezel Styling,” which for those wondering, is a stainless steel protector that surrounds the smartwatch’s display and has an opening for the crown.
The “Bezel Styling” description says it is designed to “protect your device from scratches and dust caused by frequent use.” It fastens to the device with “cushioned double-sided tape”.
Ringke also showed a rather worrisome graphic showing an image with the smartwatch band attached to the Pixel Watch and an image without it, with the unattached image clearly showing the display shattering. This is all hyperbole, of course, but the strength and probability of damage to displays of this shape is now a real concern.
Ringke also makes cases for other brands of smartwatches, so this shouldn’t be a surprise exclusive to Pixel Watch devices.
