Peugeot has announced its E-Lion project, aiming to launch five electric vehicles in the next two years, including E-308, E-308 SW, E-408, E-3008 and E-5008, of which E-3008 will be released in the second half of 2023, followed by E-5008 and other models.
The new E-3008 model is based on the STLA Medium platform and will have a range of 700km, and will be available with three versions of powertrains, including a dual-motor version.
According to the report, Peugeot plans to electrify all models by 2023, and to electrify 100% of new vehicles sold in Europe by 2030.
The Peugeot is also introducing a 48V light-hybrid system, a new hybrid technology that will be paired with a PureTech engine that will have a 21kW electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The system will first be available in 2023 for the 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 5008 and 408 models.
In addition, Peugeot will release a new generation of intelligent i-COCKPIT cabin systems in 2026, which will provide a better experience in terms of digitalization, intelligence and driver assistance/autonomous driving in future products. In addition, Peugeot will make efforts to reduce carbon emissions, including the use of lightweight seats, alloy wheels made of recycled materials, reduced use of chrome, etc.
