Ricoh today announced two new colorways for the Pentax PENTAX KF SLR camera — olive green and lime, which will go on sale in limited quantities on Thursday, February 2, at a price of 119,800 yen (currently about RMB 6,266), including tax.

The new Pentax KF is now available in seven colorways, adding to the previous blue, white, black, and ivy green/indigo colorways sold exclusively at PENTAX HOUSE. The first purchase can get PEAK DESIGN shoulder strap in the same color.

The newest version of the KF is the Pentax K70, which was released in 2016, except for some minor changes.
The Pentax KF is not a significant upgrade over the K70. Pentax says the K70 is being phased out because some of the components that make up the camera are no longer available for purchase. The number of these out-of-stock components was so large that Pentax could not continue to use the K70 name, and so the KF was born.
The Pentax KF is no different from the K70 in terms of appearance and sensor, except that the resolution of the flip LCD has been increased by 12.5% from 921,000 dots to 1,037,000 dots.
In addition, the Pentax KF weighs 625 grams, while the K70 weighs 628 grams, equivalent to a reduction of 3 grams, and also replaced with a USB-C interface.
On the software side, the Pentax KF has three new custom image modes. The first, called SATOBI, produces colors similar to those of the 1960s and ’70s, with cyan blue, soft yellow and faded red. The Pentax KF also comes with two other special edition image modes: Summer and Nine Autumns.
Finally, the Pentax KF’s utility software is now built into the camera, as opposed to the CD that used to come with it.
The rest of the Pentax KF is identical to the Pentax K70, including a 24.24 megapixel APS-C sensor, up to ISO 102400, auto level correction, shake pixels, a pentaprism viewfinder with 100% field of view, button layout, dust and drip protection, and a shockproof system.
