Panasonic today released the first intelligent closet HCC-R600A in Japan, which can automatically disinfect, deodorize and iron clothes in a quiet environment that does not disturb the user’s sleep.
Depending on the direction of the door, this closet is divided into two sub-models, left (L) and right (R), and is expected to be priced at 330,000 yen (currently about RMB 16764), with sales starting on August 1.

Panasonic says this smart closet can reduce bacteria on clothes by more than 99% after about 120 minutes of disinfection, according to tests by the Japan Food Research Center. The machine also supports ironing of clothes by steam and is equipped with a warm air dehumidification system to ensure dry clothes after ironing.

Panasonic introduces the smart closet with a noise-reducing design to suit the bedroom environment. The noise level is about 30 decibels in disinfection and deodorization mode, and 40 decibels in ironing mode. 40 decibels is equivalent to the noise level felt in a library or quiet residential area.

The smart closet has a simple mirror design with an operating panel that is displayed only when in use and supports touch operation. The machine is also equipped with a child lock to prevent misuse by children. Its external dimensions are 450 (W) x 613 (D) x 1734 (H) mm.
