OPPO showcases second-generation Snapdragon 8 hardware light-tracking screen effect

Qualcomm this morning officially announced the second generation of the Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, one of the highlights of the new processor is support for hardware-level ray tracing technology, OPPO has also announced that the new generation of Find X flagship will be the first to carry the mobile platform, and now they have released a video showing the second generation of Snapdragon 8 mobile platform supported by the hardware-based mobile ray tracing experience The video shows the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform supported by a hardware-based mobile light tracing experience that brings more realistic gaming graphics to users.

In a live run on the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, head-to-head games are said to be stable at 60 frame rates and deliver lifelike soft shadows and reflections for the highest game quality. Compared to the previous generation of software, the technology has improved 5 times in ray tracing rendering efficiency and effectively reduced the CPU runtime load by 90%, freeing the industry from the plight of mobile light tracing, which could only be achieved through software simulation, and pushing mobile light tracing technology to a new stage of landing in complex large game scenarios.

OPPO said that as the first manufacturer in the industry to provide open mobile light tracing solutions, OPPO has been working with Qualcomm to jointly develop hardware-accelerated real time tracing technology, realizing the implementation of mobile light tracing technology in complex large-scale game scenarios.

The company is working closely with game studios to bring more light-chasing handheld applications in the future.
