The OPPO Reno 9 series became official a few days ago with three devices, a base model, a Pro model, and a Pro+ model. Already we have touched on the best features available on the Pro+ model in this article, and it might just find its way to the list of best flagship killers for 2023. But can the base model stand a chance in the more affordable midrange smartphone market? Well, it comes with some note-worthy features and specifications that might make it a top pick for those shopping for a smartphone on a budget.
One of the things to note about this device is its design, and OPPO nailed the job with this device’s design. The OPPO Reno 9 comes with a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ curved screen, and it borrows a few features from the Reno 8 series design. As for its processing power, this device comes with the Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC with up to 12GB worth of LPDDR5 RAM capacity. Storage is also impressive as the device boasts over 512GB UFS 3.1 ROM on the 12GB variant.

For its camera abilities, the Reno 9 features a dual rear camera setup with a 64MP main lens and a 2MP secondary lens. On the front is a centre screen cutout that houses a 32MP selfie camera sensor. Thanks to software abilities, these cameras also feature tons of photography modes. Another impressive feature of this device is its, 4500mAh battery capacity that supports 67W fast charging with the OPPO SUPERVOOC technology.
The OPPO Reno 9 runs Android 13 out of the box, with some customization from ColorOS 13. Additionally, the colour options of this device are yet another of its big flex as it offers All Things Red (which might be exclusive to certain regions), Bright Moon Black, Tomorrow Gold, and Slightly Drunken options. The device isn’t available for sale yet but can be pre-ordered from the OPPO official site awaiting its global release.
