OPPO Reno 8 series launched with new generation processors; specifications, price

The OPPO Reno 8 series is the newest smartphone entry from the Chinese tech company. The series consists of a total of three devices, each using a new generation of processors. OPPO did a good job with the camera on the Pro models by enhancing them with the Mariana MariSilicon X. Let’s now take a look at the specifications of each smartphone in the OPPO Reno 8 series.

OPPO Reno 8 specifications and features

OPPO Reno 8 series. OPPO Reno 8

This is the base model of the OPPO Reno 8 series, and it comes without the Mariana MariSilicon X. This smartphone makes use of what OPPO calls the Liuyun dual mirror design. Similar to the Reno 7 series, this device as well flaunts flat edges. Its rear camera cutout uses a flush design that blends in with the smartphone’s body, hence eradicating the protruding bump on its predecessor. Its specifications are as follows:

  • Screen: 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling of up to 180Hz.
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 1300.
  • Storage: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB fast storage.
  • Main Camera: Triple setup with a 50MP main camera, 2MP black and white camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
  • Front Camera: 32MP front-facing camera.
  • Battery: 4500mAh battery with 80W fast charge.
  • Operating System: Colour OS 12.1, running on Android 12.
  • Biometrics: Under display fingerprint sensor.

The OPPO Reno 8 is a very sleek device, measuring 7.67mm in thickness. It comes in three amazing colours, namely: Night Tour Black, Clear Sky Blue, and the most interesting name of all three, Slightly Drunk.

OPPO Reno 8 Pro specifications and features

OPPO Reno 8 series. OPPO Reno 8 Pro

Improve on the specifications of the Reno 8, give a more powerful processor, and you have the Reno 8 Pro! Thanks to OPPO’s self-developed Mariana MariSilicon X this is a pro camera device. It is also slightly thinner than the Reno 8, below are its specifications:

  • Screen: 6.62-inch AMOLED screen with an FHD+ resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling.
  • Processor: Snapdragon 7 Gen 1
  • Storage: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB fast storage.
  • Main Camera: Triple setup with a 50MP wide camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

Colour options on this device are similar to the Reno 8 except for one option. The perturbing Slightly Drunk option remains along with the Night Tour Black, but there is a new Encounter Blue colour option.
