OPPO first foldable device, the Find N

The OPPO Find N is the company’s first device to enter the foldable smartphone market. Despite it being OPPO’s first entry, the Find N proved itself to be a worthy competition to other foldable devices out there. Its unique design and form factor makes it stand out from the crowd. According to a recent news release, OPPO might be making plans to launch a flip foldable device.

The likes of the Huawei P50 Pocket and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip line-up are in the family of flip foldable devices. Both devices above are both stylish and unique in their ways, this makes them stand tall in the flip foldable smartphone market. How does OPPO intend to compete with the already established kings in this smartphone niche?

Well, just like we saw with the OPPO Find N, the company might play their cards to enter the market in two main ways. First, a unique form factor! The Find N’s form factor is very much different from other already existing foldable, this gives it an edge against the competition. OPPO might use this design strategy to push its coming flip foldable device into the market, but, the design might not be all that is required.

Second, pricing is one main way that OPPO can squeeze itself into the flip smartphones niche. Considering the Find N, the price of this device is way lower than other foldable devices. This tactic will appeal to those hoping to get a foldable device but not willing to pay heavily. According to a recent release, the price of the incoming OPPO flip foldable device will be lower (at 5000 yuan) than the likes of the P50 Pocket and the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Asides from the rumours that this device will use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor (making its launch seem sooner) there is no word on the actual specs of this device. We hope to see OPPO take up more challenges and possibly launch a foldable or flip smartphone outside the Chinese tech market.
