OpenAI released a new ChatGPT product today, which specifically addresses the needs of enterprise users and provides higher security and privacy protection. In its blog post, OpenAI said that ChatGPT Enterprise Edition not only provides unlimited and fast access to the powerful GPT-4 model but also enables deeper data analysis, helping companies quickly understand information and ask more complex questions to ChatGPT.
Many businesses use ChatGPT with concerns that their data will be used to train GPT-4 models, or that sensitive customer information may be inadvertently revealed using the tool. In order to solve these problems, OpenAI said that users of ChatGPT Enterprise Edition have full control and ownership of their own data, and these data will not be used to train the GPT-4 model. In addition, OpenAI plans to introduce more features, such as allowing users to customize ChatGPT’s knowledge of corporate data and providing more advanced analysis tools. Moreover, the company will also offer a ChatGPT Enterprise Edition pricing plan suitable for small teams.
According to OpenAI, this is ChatGPT’s first enterprise-oriented product, independent of ChatGPT and ChatGPT Plus. Enterprises already using ChatGPT can choose to continue using the current product, or switch to ChatGPT Enterprise Edition to enjoy new features. OpenAI said it will admit as many enterprise users as possible in the coming weeks.
At present, many organizations have developed various generative artificial intelligence tools using OpenAI and GPT-4 models, but many connect GPT-4 models through APIs or cloud services. It is noticed that some companies have begun to create their own large language model systems in order to protect their data from being exploited by the GPT-4 model, but this may be difficult for small companies. Therefore, there are also some vendors trying to provide data security and privacy protection when accessing large language models like GPT-4, especially in some more regulated industries wanting to use generative AI tools while protecting sensitive data in the case. Those vendors may face more competition as OpenAI rolls out its enterprise-focused ChatGPT product.
Recently, OpenAI also announced the opening of the custom fine-tuning function of the GPT-3.5 model, allowing users to customize ChatGPT according to specific tasks, which seems to be in preparation for larger-scale enterprise services.
