OpenAI CEO admits to being a little scared of ChatGPT

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman admits he’s “a little scared” of the ChatGPT he created, warning that it could “wipe out” many jobs

In an interview with ABC News on Thursday, Sam Altman said it’s “good” that companies are “a little scared” of the potential of artificial intelligence. He said, “If I said I wasn’t scared, you either wouldn’t believe me or would be very unhappy that I’m in this position.”

Altman also said that AI could replace many jobs, but it could also lead to “better jobs. He said, “The reason for developing AI in terms of enhancing our lives and improving our lives is that it’s going to be the greatest technology that humanity has developed to date.”

The 37-year-old entrepreneur told ABC that he is in “regular contact” with government officials and said regulators and society should be involved in the launch of ChatGPT and that feedback could help curb any negative results from its widespread use.

In a series of tweets last month, Altman warned that the world could not be far from “potentially scary” artificial intelligence, expressing his support for regulating AI and saying that rules are “critical” and that society needs time to adapt to “such a significant” AI. In a tweet, Altman expressed support for regulating AI and said that rules are “critical” and that society needs time to adapt to “something this big.

This week OpenAI launched its latest ChatGPT model, GPT-4, which Altman called “less biased” and “more creative” than earlier versions and is currently only available to paid Plus subscribers. GPT-4 is capable of processing image input, giving more accurate answers than other versions, and allowing users to have longer conversations with it.
