The company behind the popular speed testing software SpeedTest service, OOKLA, has released its Q3 2022 network report, providing a list of the five fastest 5G devices in the United States. These devices are from Samsung and Apple.

Apparently, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro are the fastest 5G devices on the U.S. market, beating out Samsung devices. the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is Samsung’s fastest 5G device in the U.S., followed by the Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Apple’s high-end iPhone models have impressive download speeds, averaging 177 Mbps. the best Samsung phone — the Galaxy Z Fold 4 — achieved an average download speed of 162 Mbps in the US. However, when it comes to uploading speeds, the difference between the high-end iPhone models and Samsung Galaxy devices is huge. Samsung’s average upload speeds were terrible, with the fastest median below 20Mbps.

OOKLA notes that 5G speeds will vary by network, as this list does not differentiate data based on different networks. When it comes to network speeds, Brazil and China show double the download and upload speeds compared to the US.
