Ookla: Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max has 130% faster 5G download speeds than 13

In the first month of the iPhone 14’s availability, major organizations have given detailed reviews and studies of it.

Two reports are available, stating that the new device’s average download speeds in terms of 5G are between 38 and 50 percent faster than its predecessor, with the median being over 40 percent faster.

New research from Ookla confirms that in the US, Apple’s iPhone 14 and 14 Pro have improved handset performance by more than 40%, but in another country, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has seen a massive 130% increase in median 5G speeds.

According to research published by SpeedSmart, the Apple iPhone 14 series has seen impressive performance gains in 5G download and upload speeds, and from the Q3 mobile and fixed broadband report shared by Ookla, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has seen download speeds up to 50% faster than earlier offerings.

Today, Ookla has shared a more detailed report analyzing the 5G performance of the iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 by region.

The median 5G download speeds for the Apple iPhone 14, 14 Pro and Pro Max are all faster than Ookla’s recent study, with the latter posting the highest download speed in the US at 177.92 Mbps.

In the US, the median 5G download speed for Apple’s iPhone 14 was 150.08 Mbps, compared to 109.48 Mbps for iPhone 13 (about 37% faster).

In addition, iPhone 14 Pro is around 174.84 Mbps compared to 121.08 Mbps for iPhone 13 Pro (44% faster) and iPhone 14 Pro Max is 177.92 compared to 121.19 for the previous generation model (46.8% faster).

However, the most amazing change in Apple’s iPhone 14 range came in Brazil, where 5G speeds rose directly from 215.27 Mbps (median) on the 13 Pro Max to an impressive 493.31 Mbps on the 14 Pro Max, an increase of just under 130%.
