The first OnePlus folding screen smartphone will be released in the third quarter of this year, according to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau (Liu Zuohu) himself. Now Yogesh Brar has revealed that the launch of the OnePlus folding screen phone will be held in New York in the first half of August and will be launched globally thereafter.
In other news, OPPO will also launch its Find N3 folding screen in China in August, and the OnePlus Fold could just be an international version of the OPPO Find N3, expected to feature an 8-inch QHD+ resolution internal screen and a 6.5-inch FHD+ resolution external screen, both with 120Hz refresh rate support.
The new folding screen phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The OnePlus Fold is expected to run Android 13 / OxygenOS 13.1, which is not expected to be available soon, although the official Google Android 14 release is very close to August.
The OnePlus Fold will feature 80W wired charging, a built-in 4800mAh battery, a 50 MP main camera on the rear (the leak says it supports OIS optical stabilization) + 48 MP ultra-wide angle lens + 32 MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 32 MP selfie camera on the front for both the inner and outer screens.
