Although Google has already released Android 13 two months ago, OnePlus recently released Android 12 for the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T and 7T Pro. Better late than never, after all.
OnePlus started testing Android 12 for the four phones mentioned above a few weeks ago, and now participating users are starting to receive the final update. Other users should receive the Android 12 update in the coming days and weeks.
The update also supports the August 2022 security patch.
The new software comes in the form of OxygenOS 12.1, which brings a complete visual makeover, new features as well as support for three-level dark mode, new style options for Shelf cards, a new smart battery engine that uses algorithms to extend battery life, new app icons, system-wide optimizations for text and color rendering, support for blocking spam MMS messages, and gaming HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilization.
Work-life balance mode is now available for all users, including quick settings to switch between work and life, but also supports automatic switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi networks, or time of day. Albums now support two-finger pinch gestures to switch between layouts, while Canvas AOD has new line and color styles, new brushes, and strokes, and improved facial recognition.
