Qualcomm officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, just the OnePlus phone announced that Oneplus 11 will be the first to carry the second generation of the Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, and the first mobile light chases open platform.
The first of these is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The news reveals that the OnePlus 11-PHB110 engineering machine features a 6.7-inch LTPO single-hole curved screen in the upper left corner, a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, a built-in 5000mAh battery, and a 100-watt fast charging head.
The blogger also revealed that the OnePlus 11 engineering machine is equipped with a metal mid-frame and three-stage mute key, equipped with optical under-screen fingerprint, rear 50MP+48MP+32MP lens combination, supporting a zoom range of 0.6X-20X.
Snapdragon 8 Gen2 uses a 4nm process with one Cortex-X3-based Kryo super core at 3.2GHz, four performance cores (2 x Cortex A715 + 2 x Cortex A710, both at 2.8GHz), and three Cortex-A510 energy efficiency cores (small cores at 2.0GHz). Compared with Snapdragon 8, the final CPU performance is 35% higher and power consumption is 40% lower. New Adreno GPU with 25% better performance and 45% less power consumption, Vulkan 1.3 support, and hardware-level ray tracing support.
Snapdragon 8 Gen2 integrates a new Hexagon processor with a significantly enhanced tensor unit and a claimed 4.35x performance increase in some scenarios. Featuring X70 5G baseband and the new FastConnect 7800 unit, it supports 5G dual SIM dual pass (up to 10Gbps downlink), Wi-Fi 7 (up to 5.8Gbps, twice the Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth 5.3, Bluetooth LE audio, 48kHz lossless audio, spatial audio and more.
In addition, the new perception ISP (triple 18bit) supports the latest CMOS from Samsung and Sony, with a single maximum of 200 megapixels and support for up to 8K 30P or 4K 120P video capture.
Snapdragon 8 Gen2’s first batch will be equipped with Xiaomi, Redmi, Glory, iQOO, OnePlus, OV and other manufacturers, the new machines will be launched at the end of 2022.
