NVIDIA says its quantum computing platform has designed the world’s largest computational fluid dynamics quantum computing circuit. Rolls-Royce plans to use this new circuit to model aero-engine designs using both classical and quantum computing methods in its simulations. Rolls-Royce notes that quantum computing applied to aero-engine design will help speed up the process and allow for more complex calculations. Rolls-Royce used partner Classiq’s synthetic engine design software, followed by simulations using NVIDIA A100 GPUs.
