South Korean media Quasar Zone recently conducted actual measurements on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 “Ada” graphics card, and found that after reducing power consumption by half to 270W, its performance lost only 8%.
The default power consumption of the RTX 4090 officially given by Nvidia is 450W, but it will not reach this power consumption during actual operation. The foreign technology media TechPowerUp found after actual measurement that the actual power consumption of the RTX 4090 when running games is around 340W.

Reducing the voltage of the GPU from 1V to 850mV is similar. In both cases, the performance penalty seems to be well-controlled, while reducing power consumption.
